Technical Project Manager

The Technical Project Manager oversees multiple technical projects related to the implementation of our products at hospitals and health systems nationwide. Our company is the pioneer of digital therapeutics and the industry's leader in insulin optimization technologies and services. We are improving the lives of people with diabetes across the healthcare continuum! This position reports to the Senior Director of Data and Integration. As a Technical Project Manager, you will collaborate with multiple departments and team members throughout the company.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, test and deploy database and related software; also, high-availability solutions such as fail-over cluster and AlwaysOn.
  • Manage technical projects associated with implementation of company’s products, ensuring successful, on-time delivery in accordance with established methodologies and milestones.
  • Formulate plans. Define goals, deliverables and success criteria. Assist clients with resourcing requirements and expectations.
  • Collaborate with Glytec Project Manager and clinical leads. Delegate tasks and coordinate deliverables across internal teams as required to meet project requirements.
  • Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Cultivate rapport with key stakeholders and constituents at all levels. Reinforce goals throughout implementation lifecycle and facilitate course correction as needed.
  • Monitor progress and track details using Smartsheet, JIRA, Confluence and other technologies.
  • Identify and report on shortfalls, delays, conflicts and other issues/risks, including out-of-scope requests and change orders. Exercise appropriate forms of remediation and response, seeking direction and counsel of Glytec Project Manager and/or senior leaders as needed.
  • Facilitate project meetings. Prepare and disseminate status reports, meeting minutes and other materials in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Manage resolution of outstanding acceptance issues before and after go-live events.
  • Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders regarding enhancement requests.
  • Prepare technical documentation such as reference materials, installation instructions, user guides, knowledge base articles, technical requirements and functional specifications. Support ongoing development and maintenance of project plan templates.
  • Serve as primary liaison and first point of escalation to client organizations for troubleshooting of technical issues.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 client support.
  • Exercise tact, diplomacy and professionalism at all times, building rapport with clients and gaining their trust and respect.
  • Complete regulatory-related documentation and sign-offs as needed for compliance with quality assurance and FDA requirements.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, information systems or related discipline.
  • Three or more years' professional work experience in IT organization (development, project management or client services).
  • Three or more years' project management experience with implementations involving software and services.
  • Experience with SQL, XML and JSON files, data analysis and database methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of Internet/Intranet and networking concepts.
  • Ability to conduct technical training and write technical documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Professional Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and technologies such as Smartsheet, JIRA and Confluence.
  • Exceptional client-facing interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to cultivate rapport and facilitate communication with project leaders.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills, with significant attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to function independently, take initiative and exercise sound judgment.

PREFERRED

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Previous or current employment with a health information technology company, medical device company, hospital, health system or other healthcare organization.
  • Experience with health information systems (e.g., electronic medical record systems; laboratory information systems; admission, discharge and transfer systems, charting systems, etc.)
  • Experience with (or knowledge of) HL7, Web Services API (RESTful) and interface engines (e.g., Cloverleaf, Ensemble, Mirth).

Working Conditions:

  • Work in Waltham, Massachusetts office.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% (to client and partner sites).
  • Some work on nights and weekends may be required to achieve goals of department and company.
  • Must be able to manage responsibilities within distributed, matrix organization (many fellow employees work remotely or in different office location).
