Outpatient Services and Research Coordinator (CDE, BC-ADM)

As the Outpatient Services and Research Coordinator, you will be instrumental in facilitating implementations of our patented and proprietary Glucommander™ Outpatient software-as-a-service solution for insulin titration decision support. You will also spearhead research projects to validate safety and efficacy and to measure various clinical and financial outcomes. This role involves coordinating activities both internally and externally across the entire client lifecycle, from planning and kick-off through go live, optimization and ongoing support. It is a brand new role within our organization, which means you will be instrumental in helping shape and refine goals, expectations and interdepartmental workflows.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Function as clinical liaison to clients and subject matter expert on Glucommander™ Outpatient.
  • Assist with clinical requirements gathering and associated configuration of Glucommander™ Outpatient, including EHR integration and interfaces to other systems, as applicable. Perform testing to validate expected performance.
  • Conduct onsite and web-based educational sessions and help develop required materials.
  • Facilitate advance preparations for go-live events and serve as lead for onsite clinical activities.
  • Spearhead all aspects of outpatient-focused research projects, including study design, protocol development and data collection. Work collaboratively with principal investigators, study coordinators and other involved parties. Conduct onsite walkthroughs and orientations for clinicians and administrative personnel.
  • Coordinate post-hoc analyses of research results in conjunction with data scientists.
  • Manage preparation of abstracts, posters and manuscripts.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for client clinical support.
  • Execute downtime strategies.
  • Document user feedback and other insights gleaned from onsite and remote interactions.
  • Serve as member of Clinical Review Committee supporting ongoing review and prioritization of new and enhanced software features for Glucommander™ Outpatient.
  • Attend weekly meetings of Project Management Organization to stay current on all client implementation projects and contribute as appropriate.



  • CDE or BC-ADM.
  • Three or more years’ experience in outpatient diabetes care environment (physicians’ office/clinic or specialized hospital outpatient clinic/institute).
  • Three or more years’ experience in clinical research, commensurate with responsibilities described above.
  • Strong working knowledge of current diabetes devices, such as blood glucose meters, sensors, CGM, insulin smart pens, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of current antidiabetic agents, including all types of insulin, oral medications and injectables.
  • Experience supervising and/or training clinicians, either as a job function or for a special project.
  • Strong critical thinking, organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.


  • Registered nurse, registered dietician or pharmacist license.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in nursing, nutrition, pharmacy or related field.
  • Previous or current employment with a health information technology, medical device or pharmaceutical company.
  • Experience implementing new software.
  • EHR proficiency.
  • Proficiency with data management or analytics applications, such as SPSS, SAS, SQL, MatLab, etc.

Working Conditions:

  • Work remotely from home (i.e., virtual office).
  • Willing and able to travel 50% (occasionally to include weekends).
  • Must live near major airport.
  • Flexible hours, not customary 9-to-5 schedule; peaks and valleys can translate to extended hours during evenings and weekends to meet client and company needs.
  • Must be able to manage responsibilities within distributed, matrix organization (many fellow employees also work remotely); this role interfaces with and supports clients as well as internal colleagues.
