Integrations Engineer

The Integrations Engineer works with hospitals and health systems throughout the country to configure, test and deploy integrations and interfaces between various health information systems and our proprietary eGlycemic Management System® (eGMS®), a cloud-hosted, web-based software-as-a-medical-device platform for delivering personalized diabetes therapy management and insulin optimization on an inpatient and outpatient basis. Our internal project management team and clients rely on the Integrations Engineer for timely and accurate performance in support of eGMS® implementations and upgrades. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in functional and technical requirements gathering for integration solutions.
  • Configure, test and deploy inbound and outbound HL7 interfaces between client-specific health information systems (e.g., electronic medical record systems; laboratory information systems; admission, discharge and transfer systems, charting systems) and eGMS® utilizing variety of software tools.
  • Partner with clients to perform user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Provide technical support for other client needs, such as customizations, reports, extracts, data migrations, fixes, patches, updates, change requests and conversions.
  • Manage resolution of outstanding issues before and after project go-live events.
  • Report, track and document product-related defects for review by quality assurance and development teams.
  • Prepare technical documentation, such as reference materials, installation instructions, user guides, knowledgebase articles, and functional specifications.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 client support.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Previous or current employment as an integrations engineer or similar role.
  • Experience in client-focused interaction.
  • Experience with interface engines (e.g., Ensembl, Mirth, Iguana).
  • Experience with SQL, XML and JSON files, data analysis and database methodologies.
  • Experience with HL7 programming.
  • Working knowledge of Internet/Intranet constructs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of tiered web-based application architectures and IP networking architectures.
  • Ability to conduct technical training and write technical documents.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, time management and organizational skills, with significant attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and precisely, verbally and in writing with variety of internal and external constituents, including clients, partners and employees at all levels.

PREFERRED

  • Experience with health information systems (e.g., electronic medical record systems; laboratory information systems; admission, discharge and transfer systems, charting systems, etc.).
  • Previous or current employment with a health information technology company, medical device company, hospital, health system or other healthcare organization.
  • Working knowledge of Web Services API (RESTful).
  • Knowledge of healthcare and health information exchange (HIE) standards and best practices.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in Waltham, Massachusetts or Greenville, South Carolina office.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% (to client and partner sites).
  • Some work on nights and weekends may be required to achieve goals of department and company.
  • Must be able to manage responsibilities within distributed, matrix organization (many fellow employees work remotely or in a different office location).
