Clinical Trainer (RN, RD, CDE)

Are you an RN, RD or CDE with experience in classroom-style software training and a background in the inpatient setting? Are you passionate about being well-organized and making sure the smallest of details aren’t overlooked? Does traveling to different hospital sites and working with diverse groups of clinicians appeal to you? This may be the role for you!

As a Glytec Clinical Trainer, you will be part of a team that implements our patented and proprietary eGlycemic Management System®, a software-as-a-service solution that centers on Glucommander™ for insulin titration decision support. More importantly, you will be filling a brand new role within our organization, which means you will be instrumental in helping shape and refine goals, expectations and interdepartmental workflows.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the planning, scheduling and delivery of onsite train-the-trainer sessions.
  • Collaborate with other members of the clinical services team to tailor educational materials, such as manuals, handouts and visual aids, based on client-specific needs.
  • Create computer-based learning modules and manage the processes and resources necessary to ensure proper upload to client-side learning management systems.
  • Coordinate logistics for all onsite training and education events, including train-the-trainer sessions and end-user sessions.
  • Assist with development of educational tools and materials, infusing innovative ideas to elevate the learning experience.
  • Support client trainers in delivery of client-led training sessions. Assess training techniques, curriculum, incorporation of taught skills, and overall effectiveness.
  • Serve as client resource for educational needs to support orientation of physicians, pharmacists and other staff involved with glycemic management.
  • Manage client compliance with training plans and evaluations.
  • Document client feedback and other insights gleaned from onsite and remote interactions.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 client clinical support.
  • Serve as member of Glytec’s Clinical Review Committee supporting ongoing review and prioritization of new and enhanced software features.
  • Attend weekly meetings of the Project Management Organization to stay current on all client implementation projects and contribute as applicable.
  • Conduct end-user training sessions and participate in onsite go-live events on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED

  • RN or RD license.
  • Three or more years’ experience in patient care environment.
  • One or more years’ experience facilitating classroom-style software training.
  • Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

PREFERRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, nutrition or related field.
  • CDE or BC-ADM.
  • Experience in, or knowledge of, diabetes care/therapy management.
  • Experience in educational curriculum development.
  • Experience implementing software.
  • Project management skills.
  • EMR proficiency.

Working Conditions:

  • Work remotely from home (i.e., virtual office).
  • Willing and able to travel 75% (occasionally to include weekends).
  • Must live near a major airport.
  • Flexible hours, not customary 9-to-5 schedule; peaks and valleys can translate to extended hours during evenings and weekends to meet client and company needs.
  • Must be able to manage responsibilities within distributed, matrix organization (many fellow employees also work remotely); this role interfaces with and supports clients as well as internal colleagues.
